A modern black and white pittsburgh wedding at The Pennsylvanian. As a fine art wedding photographer based in Pittsburgh, I work at The Pennsylvanian frequently and it never disappoints. The beautiful rotunda and train station make up one of the cities most architecturally significant buildings, encapsulating the Beaux-Arts style of the time, and making this one of my favorite venues downtown! Mr. and Mrs. Glikes included several elegant details in their decor to create a lush, floral filled design that was modern, sleek and unique to the spaces while remaining consistent throughout the night.
To get ready, the bride and her bridal party stayed in a luxe hotel room at Hotel Monaco, that provided incredible lighting and background for those first photos of the day. Always think twice about your wedding suite the morning of – it makes a huge difference in your final gallery of images.
The slanted shapes on the ceremony backdrops were a nod to their custom invitation suite. Florals walls are definitely trending right now, but this approach included 100% fresh greenery and flowers while still maintaining a modern approach. The unique shapes created a show stopping focal point.
Bride and groom portraits took place at a Walled Garden at Mellon Park nearby. To enter the reception ballroom, a stunning seating chart with similar shapes to the ceremony backdrop directed wedding guests to their assigned seats.
What an incredible modern black and white Pittsburgh wedding reception at The Pennsylvanian put together by the most talented wedding vendors!
